Customer Video Review Length:: 0:24 MinsThis little webcam has proven to be a very good value for its price. Its focus and light correction are good and its video and quality are quite reasonable. I've used it on several different computers, from a five-year-old XP laptop to a recent Vista desktop platform and have had no problems. The software is simple but the camera adapts readily to other software: I've noticed no problems with Skype and indeed it's very useful on that.I'm familiar with the Logitech line; I already have a Logitech Pro 9000. Frankly, this C310 webcam gives fairly similar results at a much lesser price.Highly recommend for those looking for an inexpensive but capable little webcam, especially those starting out.

Good for the price, but clips break easily and name is misleading.
For the price, this is great and suits my needs. But before we even used it for the first time, my spouse attempted to clip it to my laptop and the clip broke. I haven't superglued it yet, but I still managed to get it to stay on my laptop somewhat loosely and that was good enough. It was inexpensive enough that it wasn't even worth it for me to try to contact the seller to try to exchange it.It says "Night Vision" in the name. I thought that meant that it had a very sensitive lens and could take video in the darkness. It can take video in the darkness, but only because it has 6 LED lights on the front that blind you as you're using it. You can dial the brightness down or not use the lights at all. It's very handy to have the lights so that you don't have to make sure you have a lot of other bright lamps in the room. However, I think the name is misleading because if you thought you'd use this in darkness know that the LEDs are bright, they will do a good job of...

For the money, You can't beat it, Wrong description
This item does what it is supposed to. Picture quality is above average. The led light control is inconvenient because it is located on the cord and not the unit which is fine for laptop users but hard to get to for desktop users where the camera is on top of the monitor which will hide the cord.Also, the description states that this webcam has a mic built in, it does not. On the company's website their description states "no built in mic". I believe this is an Amazon error.Overall, you can't go wrong.

Great deal for price
I run a paranormal investigation group and already have a DVR with 4 CCTV cameras but wanted something that could be used for smaller investigations where space was an issue. Instead of hauling a folding table, DVR, cameras and cords, it would be much easier to simply use a web cam and laptop to record one single area.It took longer than expected to receive the item but it arrived in good shape but did not come with software. I tested it with both Windows XP and Windows 7 and both installed drivers for the device. No manual came with the web cam either so I'm not sure if the button on top is supposed to snap a photo or cut the audio. If it is supposed to snap a photo then the Windows drivers do not support that function because as far as I can tell pressing the button does nothing.The first thing I did was take the web cam apart and remove the infrared filter. A great alternative to Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000
I'm a big Skype user and have used the QuickCam Pro 9000 for quite some time. While Skype doesn't recognize this Microsoft cam as an "HQ" cam (or at least not yet, if ever), I have found that this cam excels as compared to the QuickCam Pro 9000 in three ways:1. This cam produces much richer colors. Some may say it borderlines oversaturated or "technicolor" but I really enjoy the brilliance of the colors2. Low light conditions keep rich and bright color. I find with the QuickCam it loses contrast to brighten up the picture.3. Launch time. I find with the Quickcam Pro 9000 the "ramp up/turn on" time is undesirably long when receiving an auto answer Skype call. This cam is ready to go immediately.As far as focusing goes, both the QickCam Pro 9000 and this cam aren't great at it in dark lighting conditions.The widescreen view is a really nice change from the normal 4:3 perspective. Excellent Hardware, Lackluster Software

It does require a lot of processing power to produce decent videos, so do everything you can to let the capture software have all of the processing power.For reference, I was using an AMD Athlon 64 XP Dual Core 6400+ CPU with 4GB of RAM when recording this video. I am running the software on a Windows XP 32-bit machine.This video was recorded with minimal software interference, but I'm also happy with the quality of the processing for low-light conditions. In this case, I was looking to get the best motion performance, so I turned off all of the auto features in order to get the best picture with the light I was using.As you will hear in the video, the built-in microphone isn't terrible, but it does have a pretty high noise floor. Good in very low light
I like the Lifecam Cinema webcam because it is the best webcam in very low light. With only the computer and TV on at night, the Lifecam Cinema webcam produces a viewable video for chat. In this same light settings, the Quickcam Pro9000s video is all black.In better light conditions, the Lifecam cinema will produce a good video with good color.This camera will focus as close as 1 inch. Good to play around with as a microscope, but a hassle everytime it does an autofocus. I turn off autofocus most of the time.People mentioned that this camera takes a powerful CPU. It only uses a lot of CPU power when you turn on the video effects, such as modifing the eyes, nose, face, and others.

Much more than expected
Customer Video Review Length:: 2:45 MinsThe primary point is that this camera is not Skype certified, but performs better than a skype certified camera. This camera DOES DO 720p in Skype at 30FPS as opposed to the flagship certified Skype camera which does only 22FPS. This camera has great video and audio for a webcam. It does 720p in skype, Windows Live Messenger BETA, and Logitech Vid HD. I was reluctant to buy another HD webcam after the disappointment of both the Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD and the FaceVsion Touchcam N1. But this is the first HD camera that feels like it.

Excellent upgrade from my Logitech QuickCam Pro

Unlike most webcam installations, this one was up and running in no time. It has a user-friendly and a very easy to navigate interface/menu. High Definition is pretty much the norm for resolution qualities now-a-days. The Logitech C910 I consider is the "high-end" webcam for the average user. The webacm sits on my 23 widescreen monitor, it balances perfectly on my monitor even though it does not have a clip. However, this might not work so well with laptops.5 MP HD sensor takes crystal clear snapshots using 10 mega pixels (software enhanced), not even my digital camera is that high in mega pixels. The webcam is not as high quality using it on video chat (HD 720p), but it still beats the other webcam I was using before. Great webcam!
I had suspicions the quality would be poor and grainy, but I was very pleased once I got it plugged in and running.The quality is very good, and it has all kinds of neat features. You can set it to detect and record motion with or without the green light on for up to fifteen minutes. It has a follow face option which will track your motion to ensure the other person sees you even if you get up and move around, which can be set on and off. Right light ensures great quality even in darker rooms. My only complaint is that the adjustable tabs to keep it atop the screen are a little goofy. I struggle to keep it on top of my laptop screen sometimes, but that issue seems to common with all web cams.I suggest it to anyone looking for a great web cam at a good price.

Great WebCam for a cheap price!
I bought this webcam after struggling for months on what model to purchase. Very pleasently surprised! Not only was this one of the cheaper models in cost, but it was super easy to install and worked excellently right out of the box. I used Skype on a high frame rate setting and it was all too easy and a great video call. Definitely the right camera for simple broadband video calls.
